OFFICIAL VISIT OF H.E. AHMED BOLA TINUBU, GCFR , PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA TO THE HAGUE, THE KINGDOM OF THE NETHERLANDS ON 25TH APRIL, 2024
President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, GCFR, visited the Kingdom of the Netherlands on a one-day working visit on 25th April 2024 at the invitation of the King Willem-Alexander of Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Nigerian delegation comprised the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Industry, Trade and Investment; Agriculture and Food Security; Marine and Blue Economy; Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy; Power and Minister of State (Oil). Part of Mr. President’s team to the Netherlands included the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations; Executive Secretary (ES) Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC); Managing Director (MD) Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) and the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
The purpose of the visit was to further strengthen cordial bilateral relations, between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. In line with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the visit in particular, focused on ways to improve on Nigeria-Netherlands Trade and Investment relations.
During the visit, President Tinubu had the following engagements:
- Tete a tete meetings with Mr. Mark Rutte Prime Minister, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Maxima; and
- Participation at the Business and Investment Forum with a total of about forty-four (44) Dutch and Nigerian business owners in attendance.
Furthermore, at the sidelines of the working visit, the following engagements took place at Ministerial level:
- The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs had a Town Hall meeting with the Nigerian Community in the Netherlands;
- The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs had elaborate discussion with his Dutch counterpart; and
- The Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy accompanied by the MD Nigeria Port Authority led the Nigerian Business community on a tour of the Port of Rotterdam. The delegation had fruitful discussions with the Management of the Port of Rotterdam; and
- The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security held a meeting the Director General in Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.
